Symptoms: groaning noise heard while steering, especially at slow speeds (lots of steering wheel movement).
- Easiest fix is to check hydraulic fluid (Pentosin) level. If the system is even slightly low, it can suck in air bubbles which cause the groan. A flush and refill of the fluid wouldn't be a bad idea.
- Check for source of noise. Extreme cases may require a new/rebuilt hydraulic pump or steering rack.
